The Power of Words

A 6 week creative writing course introducing young people to the power of words, and the different ways you can express yourself as an artist!

The Power of Words is a 6 week course where participants learn essential writing skills, receive individual feedback, and discover their own writing style.  After the course there will be a performance evening on the Canada Water Theatre Stage where participants are able to show case their talents.


Each workshop will consist of an introduction, warm up/ice breaker, example of work, writing exercises as well as a chance to respond to the stimulus lead by Leian John-Baptiste Artistic Director of Orísun Productions and a guest speaker.

Week 2: Poetry / Spoken Word - Thursday 28 October


Week 3: Story time: What is story? - Thursday 4 November


Week 4: Character and Monologues - Thursday 11 November


Week 5: Scripts: from Brain to Stage - Thursday 18 November


Week 6: Perfect pitch: selling yourself and your work Thursday - 25 November


Week 7: Final Sharing/Performance - Canada Water Theatre  - Thursday 2 December
